A manuscript titled "COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT EVALUATION: TOOL FOR TRANSFORMATION AGENDA IN SCHOOL LIBRARIES" was sent to us for publication.

Abstract

Collection development is a very popular term in Libraries and information centres as a need for an efficient and balanced collection. This literature based opinion paper discusses the need for School librarians to acquire core competences relevant for collection building capable of making them relevant to the school. The first part of this paper discusses the issue of collection development and, policies. This paper further discusses the need for constant collection evaluation since it is an important component of a comprehensive collection management program. It explains the role of gifts, donation and exchanges in collection development. The issue of collection evaluation methods is thoroughly examined because when available, it enhances the collection of School libraries. This paper stresses that the growth a nd continued existence of school Librarians is dependent on the ability to acquire new skills in the area of collection building required to transform and navigate the performance of students.

Atlantic Journal of Education and Humanities Studies (AJEHS) is a peer-reviewed international journal which is dedicated to publish original research papers, reviews, and short communications in all areas of education including e-learning, comparative education, education policy, human development, accountability, educational reforms, and societal interactions, economics, geography, history, law, languages and linguistics literature, performing arts, philosophy, religious studies, population study, visual arts, political science, public administration, publishing and editing, psychology, gender studies, cultural studies and ethnic studies, social work, sociology, anthropology, archaeology, area studies, business, divinity, library and museum studies, journalism, mass media and communication, women study etc.

Publications in Atlantic Journals are published monthly. We are currently seeking manuscripts for the upcoming issues. We welcome a timely submission of Original articles, Case studies, Expert reviews, surveys, opinions, commentaries and essays in all fields.

Please note that we accept manuscript in MS-WORD formats along with a cover letter. Figures and table should be submitted alongside the main manuscript or attached as supporting documents.All manuscript(s) as well as supporting documents should be submitted as e-mail attachment(s). to ajehs@atlanticrj.org or ajehs.atlanticrj@gmail.com

A manuscript number will be mailed to the corresponding author within 48 hours. Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure you carefully read and adhere to all the instructions for authors. Manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines may be returned.
